Scope

This policy applies to EchoSweep for Android, package com.adzdevbox.echosweep. EchoSweep is designed as a local-first storage inspection and cleanup utility and does not require an EchoSweep account.

Device data and local processing

With Android-granted storage or media access, EchoSweep may read file names, paths, sizes, dates, media types, file content needed for duplicate comparison, and image data needed for similar-photo analysis. It is designed to perform inventory, size grouping, partial fingerprinting, SHA-256 hashing, final byte comparison, large-file review, and perceptual image analysis on the device. Similar-photo results are suggestions, not proof of exact duplication. Access remains limited by Android, the current user or profile, device state, and permissions you grant.

Local records and cleanup

The app may store scan history and action records locally, including timestamps, counts, paths, action type, quarantine location, and file size. Depending on the app version and Android access, user-initiated cleanup may use quarantine, restoration, local trash, or permanent deletion. No deletion or restoration method is guaranteed to succeed in every situation; review important files and keep independent backups.

Transmission and third parties

The inspected source does not request Android's INTERNET permission and is not designed to upload storage data to an Adz Dev Coding server or use analytics, advertising, cloud sync, or remote APIs. This describes the inspected source and product design, not a universal runtime guarantee. Android, Google Play, device backup, GitHub Pages, and other platform services operate under their own terms.

Permissions and your controls

EchoSweep may request media permissions and, where justified for its storage-management purpose, broad shared-storage access. You can review or revoke permissions in Android settings. See Data & permissions.

Retention and deletion

Local app records remain on the device until removed by app behavior, clearing app data, uninstalling, or applicable Android backup and transfer behavior. Clearing app data or uninstalling may affect local history or app-managed quarantine records without necessarily deleting original, exported, trashed, or restored files.

Support communications

If you email us, we receive your address and the information you choose to send. We use it to answer the request and retain it only as reasonably necessary for support, security, recordkeeping, and applicable legal obligations. Do not send credentials or unrelated private files.

Children, changes, and contact

EchoSweep is not designed specifically for children. We may update this policy when the app, permissions, platform requirements, or data practices change. The current version will remain at this URL with an updated date.
